Shameika Hue, B.A. (Honours), J.D.

Shameika obtained her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology from Ryerson University. During her studies, she participated in the Immigration and Refugee Law Intensive where she completed a placement at the Federal Court of Canada. At her placement Shameika performed legal research for six judges on questions of law, provided opinions on cases before the Court and observed various court proceedings.

Prior to joining Matkowsky Immigration Law, Shameika practiced family law, child protection and immigration law under the tutelage of senior counsel who successfully litigated leading immigration case law before the Supreme Court of Canada. Shameika has experience in various areas of immigration law including, but not limited to, refugee matters, judicial reviews, applications for temporary residence, permanent residence, humanitarian and compassionate applications, and spousal sponsorships.

Shameika is passionate about supporting her clients as she understands that navigating the Canadian immigration system can be a stressful and time-consuming process.
